2017 EFRA LSOR Euros Update

On the 5th November the 2016 EFRA AGM was held  and summarising the AGM :-

  • Each EFRA section many host up to 4 European Championship Events
  • Each driver at a European Event many only drive in one class.
  • Final position will only be awarded if a vehicle starts the final.

The salient points from the AGM can be found in the EFRA minutes available via this weblink.

I can confirm that the 2017 EFRA Large Scale Off Road European Championship will be held at the Nene Valley Raceway Off Road Club in Northamptonshire from the 24th to the 29th July, 2017 with the BRCA offering those who wish to do any pre euros testing to participate in a round of the BRCA national series when it visits the Nene.

Currently there are 110 entries but all nations have until mid December to confirm their driver numbers, the current split is:-

  • Short Course – 16 pilots
  • 2 Wheel Drive – 32 pilots
  • 4 Wheel Drive – 62 pilots

The drivers making up the 2017 41 man UK team are:-

Short Course :-Pete Barns, Adam Ellis, Jez Cauldwell, Rav Jansari, Matt Perry, Jim Whitehead, Ian Southey, Steve Jones, Arvinder Gai, Tommy Chung, Andy Spence, John Hall, Rob Harpham

2 Wheel Drive :- Dave Ashton, Andy Knight, Mark Higgins, Mark Cove, Paul Gresty, Karl Norris, Oliver Whittleston, Terry Jackson

4 Wheel Drive :- Jack Keatley, Craig Orman, Steve Price, Mark Suggitt, Guy Page, Stu Wood, Chris Sutcliffe, Mike Humphreys, Luke Gower, Rik Ashman, Ayaz Aslam, Andy Love, Leon Satchel, Martin Fitzpatrick, Les Darby, Dave Parish, Jim Davis, Roger Smith, Gary Barns, John Darby

In accordance with the EFRA rules if only 16 drivers participate in the short course class a European Title will not be awarded, for an award to be made 25 or more drivers need to contest the class from 3 or more countries

Our section treasurer will be in contact with the above drivers via email with invoices and receipts accordingly to ensure all payments are made. Don’t forget if you are entered to make sure your vehicle complies with the EFRA class specification as payments are now non refundable.

Since each country has until mid December to “firm up” its entry, you still have the option of entering the best outdoor large-scale off road meeting in Europe on home soil, or should I say astroturf if you have not entered already! If you wish to be added to the 2017 team then follow these details, our closing date is Friday 16th December if you wish to be added to the uk team.

Please remember before “signing up” to read the EFRA rule book to ensure your race vehicle conforms to the EFRA vehicle specification which may be different to the standard BRCA rules.

The BRCA LSOR section wishes to thank our EFRA rep, Mike Humphreys, for his support at the EFRA AGM.

2017 LSOR EFRA UK Attendees – reserve your place

Its fast approaching that time of year when the UK have to submit our list of numbers who wish to attend the forthcoming LSOR European championship.

The Championship will be held in the UK in 2017 at the Nene Valley Raceway club in Northamptonshire during the final week of July, 24th to the 29th July. (Date now confirmed by EFRA)

It is anticipated that like this years European championship in France all three classes of LSOR will be raced, 2 wheel drive buggy, 4 wheel drive buggy and Short course with all classes requiring an EFRA licence which costs £47.5* currently.

Could I ask all the UK drivers interested in participating in the 2017 LSOR EFRA European championship please make me(lsorchair@brca.org) aware that you wish to attend and what class by the time of the BRCA AGM on the 30th October so we can inform ERFA of our required allocation. Likewise once you’ve raised your interest a full payment of £105* or deposit of £55* needs to be made to the BRCA section to reserve your place by the time of the BRCA AGM, if a deposit is made then the balance of £50* needs to be made to the section by 31st December.

The non refundable payments can be either made in cash, Cheque (Payable to BRCA Large Scale Off Road Section), BACS transfer or paypal, whatever is easier. Paypal payments can be made to treasurer@brca.org with the subject : 2017 Large Scale Off Road EC Place plus your name.

Once EFRA have confirmed acceptance of our allocation the next step will be collecting the information that EFRA and the meeting organisers need. If places are limited or classes not run then refunds will be given accordingly
