Good bye and thank you from the UK

It took two years to plan, 8 weeks of hard work to prepare the venue and it was all over in 6 days.

On behalf of the BRCA Large Scale Off Road Section can I thank all those who travelled to the Nene to participate in the 2017 Large Scale Off Road European Championship.

The Nene crew provided a first class venue despite the inclement weather they encountered 48 hours ahead of the start, it may have been a bit damper than we wanted, we had some high’s, we had some lows, we had wet times and we had dry times but most of all 6 days of racing commenced on schedule and except for a couple of days the days finished as scheduled.

Achieving this would not have been possible without the work of the Nene club, especially Darren Smith, Paul Green, Louise, Ryan and Brian Hinson, Kieran Cox. I would also like to thank Ian Southey, Paul Keatley, Steve Jones, John Hall and others for their work onsite between Friday and Sunday night and Ewa Jones and Val Hall our very own BRCA Joker girls and John Alder who worked with Brian ensuring all vehicles were legal. Thanks guys. Finally a big thank you to Dallas, Kevin, Sue and Chris for their support during the week and finally Paul Driver for bringing the team cream cakes 🙂

All the results from the meeting are online via the results menu’s above within the 2017 area, and available via myrcm.ch. Pictures and videos are also available via the gallery too.

Congratulations go to all who entered for some close and exciting racing throughout the week and to Mathew Perry for winning the 2017 European Short Course title, with just 1 second separating 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The 2 wheel drive title was won by Ken Walckiers with the new Elcon and the UK’s Karl Norris was in second place
Our final class raced was the 4 WD buggy class which saw Stu Wood of the KCR team take third spot in the dying stages and saw Dario retain his LSOR 4WD title and back to back titles on the Nene track as Dario won 2 wheel drive in 2012 when we last hosted the event. Who knows who will win when the UK next hosts the LSOR Euros !

I wish you all a great second half of your race seasons and watch out for the BRCA LSOR team as it heads to Fehring for the 2018 LSOR euros, the team gets stronger each season. Austria anybody?

Darren Worth
BRCA LSOR Section Chairman
